1GLOBAL is officially a valued associate member of the Airlines Electronic Engineering Committee (AEEC).

What is the AEEC?

The AEEC is an avionics branch of the SAE Industry Trades Consortium, a global standards association and industry body that represents the interests of the transportation and aerospace sectors. The organization defines its mission as “...to provide technical leadership and guidance that promotes safety, regularity, efficiency, and cost effectiveness in support of aircraft operations”.

The AEEC narrows its focus to the development and upholding of global avionics standards to maintain a high level of safety, efficiency, and interoperability among the aviation and aerospace industries. Part of this involves the oversight of telecommunications used in aviation, covering everything from in-flight Wi-Fi to on-the-ground communication.

Who's in the AEEC?

The AEEC is a broad body that encompasses aviation-specific brands as well as wider industry partners and suppliers, including telecommunication brands like 1GLOBAL.

The membership structure is two-tiered, divided among airline members and associate members. Airline membership is reserved for airlines and aviation operators.

Associate membership is bestowed on brands that operate in the wider supply chain and ecosystem surrounding the aviation industry, including parts manufacturers, logistics operators, service providers, and more.

Despite operating a dual membership structure, the AEEC encourages close collaboration between airlines and associate members.
