Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS) and 1GLOBAL were proud to collaborate on the integration of 1GLOBAL's embedded SIM (eUICC) software in the Synopsys DesignWare® tRoot™ Hardware Secure Module (HSM) for integrated SIM (iSIM) that protects device connectivity and management in markets all around the world.

Upgrading the IOT

The Synopsys tRoot HSM for iSIM reduces the size, power, and cost of Internet of Things (IoT) devices that require secure, unique identification and authentication. 1GLOBAL’s remote SIM provisioning service, built to support the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) Embedded SIM Specification, offers a suite of intelligent systems to manage iSIM-enabled products throughout their lifecycle. Synopsys' tRoot HSM for iSIM, combined with 1GLOBAL's eSIM technology, provides the necessary hardware, software, and services that enables mobile network operators and product manufacturers to securely connect and manage devices in worldwide cellular networks. 

1GLOBAL's unique SIM technology, which has been integrated into the Synopsys tRoot HSM IP, enables devices to come ready for cellular connection. With 1GLOBAL, devices can be connected to any network in the world straight out of the box.

Together, we enabled an open ecosystem that removed the cost and complexity of distributing physical SIMs and made the job of connecting devices much simpler. For the IoT, this opened up significant opportunities to simplify access to mobile networks and made the mobile IoT viable for many new use cases.

DesignWare tRoot HSM 

The tRoot HSM integrated a DesignWare ARC® SEM110 Security Processor with SecureShield™ technology, which provides advanced security features to protect against side-channel attacks. The tRoot HSM includes both software- and hardware-accelerated cryptography options as well as secure instruction and data memory controllers that provide confidentiality and authenticity for non-trusted memory accesses.

The tRoot HSM's security features are complemented by a NIST-validated cryptography library and secure boot support. By providing the integrated and configurable tRoot HSM, Synopsys enables SoC designers to implement an area- and energy-efficient programmable root of trust that protects high-value targets against malware, tampering, and exploitation of communication protocols. 

1GLOBAL eSIMS 

1GLOBAL's technology greatly simplifies how devices connect to mobile networks.
