The groundbreaking digital eSIM feature on the first generation of iPhones to support it made it exponentially more convenient for customers to connect and manage their international data plans directly on their handset.

The digital eSIM proposition was soon recognized as invaluable as a travel SIM, usable wherever people roam. These international plans connected across 80 countries including Europe, the USA, Japan, India, Mexico and Australia, more dependably and conveniently than ever before.

Early adopters

From launch, users could simply download the 1GLOBAL app on their new iPhone X, iPhone X Max and iPhone XR to gain access to the various plans available. In anticipation, consumers were pre-registering their email address on the 1GLOBAL website to be notified the very minute the new service went live, to be among the first to ever use the iPhone digital eSIM.

eSIM technology is the new state-of-the-art in telecommunications and the impact will be felt by everyone involved, from consumers to chipset manufacturers and all those in-between. We're one of only a handful of network operators that work with the iPhone digital eSIM. Choosing 1GLOBAL means that your new iPhone works across the world—just as it was intended.

With an eSIM enabled device, consumers enjoy out-of-the-box connectivity without having to purchase a SIM card separately. Users can just turn on their devices and download the mobile plan of their choosing.

Rapid roll out

As one of the world's leading innovators in SIM technology, 1GLOBAL continues to be ones of the primary suppliers of eSIMS to current generations of iPhone. Its GSMA accredited remote SIM provisioning platform enables mobile operators to rapidly roll out support for eSIM enabled devices by providing a complete "as-a-service" solution.

Similarly, the 1GLOBAL eSIM operating system implements the GSMA eSIM specifications and is interoperable with any GSMA compliant Remote SIM provisioning platform. This means that for consumer and M2M devices, the eSIM can securely store multiple operator profiles in separate security domains with the necessary telecommunication libraries to support authentication and communication with mobile networks.

This new technology opens a whole range of opportunities for mobile operators to showcase and develop new plans and solutions for customers. We are delighted to be one of the first to offer flexible eSIM plans on the new iPhone models and look forward to providing the technology to enable other operators do the same.
