MDM systems usually manage such capabilities on enterprise devices as device onboarding, assets management, security management, profile management, content management, application management, e-mail management, OS update management, remote control, audit and reports, etc.
All capabilities are collected and displayed on a single dashboard called a ‘single pane of glass’ in Unified Endpoint Management (UEM). The MDM ‘single pane of glass’ can be extended by eSIM and mobile data plan management.
ES is integrated with the MDM over GSMA TS.43 specification, orchestrating many MNOs worldwide.

The role of the Entitlement Server is:
Manage the repository of mobile data plans from all connected MNOs
Provide eligible mobile data plans for a given enterprise available in each registered country
Proceed with eSIM profile download and mobile plan activation when an enterprise selects a dedicated MNO's mobile data plan.
eSIM profile allocation and mobile data plan activation is provisioned in semi-real time, not requiring storing multiple activation codes on the MDM repository.
